Training-of-Trainers’ Workshop on enforcement of industrial relations laws and conciliation skills

Within the framework of the Project on Strengthening Labour Inspection Services in India, the Ministry of Labour and Employment (MoLE), the Department of Labour Resources, A N Sinha Institute of Social Studies and the ILO will be organizing a Training-of-Trainers’ Workshop on enforcement of Industrial Relations Laws and Conciliation Skills at Patna, Bihar on 25 - 27 August 2010.

The Training-of-Trainers’ Workshop forms part of the Strategy to improve the capacity of the labour administration in India to provide training for labour inspectors and those entrusted with the task of holding conciliation proceedings.. The strategy also includes the adaptation of the ILO Manual for Labour Inspectors to the Indian context, including the development of specific chapters on key issues that were identified in a meeting of Labour Inspectors in March.

A training programme on enforcement of laws had been organised for the officers of the Labour Resource Department and the officers of the Central Industrial Relations Machinery from 13 to 20 August 2010. It was attended by 47 officers. This workshop will supplement the earlier programme.
