    TBILISI. October 28, 2015 – The regional conference on jobs and employment had a prominent start in Tbilisi, Georgia, on 28 October 2015. The two-day forum which will look into the ways to boost employment in the region ensuring inclusive and sustainable growth of the national labour markets, brought together more than 130 delegates from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine. The conference is organised by a group of international organizations including the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), World Bank Group, International Labour Organization (ILO) and the Swiss Cooperation Office (SCO).

    Specialists of the Social Security Fund of the Russian Federation and ILO experts exchanged experience. How are the social security systems in other countries functioning? What foreign experience can be useful in this country, and which Russian ways may be good for others?   3. ILO constituents endorsed national OSH profile “Labour Protection in the Republic of Kazakhstan”

    On 22 October 2015, ILO representatives took part in a tripartite round table meeting at the Ministry of Health and Social Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan, where the national OSH profile “Labour Protection in the Republic of Kazakhstan” was formally launched. The document has been prepared in cooperation with the ILO Decent Work Technical Support Team and Country Office for Eastern Europe and Central Asia, based on the ILO’s methodological guidance.

  4. ILO methodology will help assess the needs of labour market in Tajikistan

    Tajikistan’s Labour and Employment Agency and the Ministry of Labour, Migration and Employment, with the support from the International Labour Organization’s project “Applying the G20 Training Strategy,” organized a round table conference to present the findings of Establishing Skills Survey, evaluating the need for competences in the Republic’s three districts: Sughd and Khatlon regions and the capital city of Dushanbe.

  5. Results of the third round of peer review of youth employment policies summed up in Sochi

    On 12 – 17 October, southern Russian city of Sochi hosted a conference of the Youth Employment Network members. The Network is part of the project "Partnerships for youth employment in the CIS countries," which is being implemented by the ILO Moscow Office with financial support of the Russian oil company LUKOIL.

  6. Rail unions focus on organising and promoting ILO conventions

    Around 40 leaders from railway unions in Eastern Europe and Central Asia met with ILO experts and senior ITF representatives in Baku, Azerbaijan from 30 September to 1 October to discuss organising and the promotion of ILO conventions throughout the rail industry.
