  1. Foreign Labour Migration Seminar in Moscow

    On 4-6 of September 2003 the ILO held at the hotel “National” in Moscow a national seminar on recruitment and foreign employment of the Russian labour force. It was supported by the association of private recruitment agencies (OST) and brought together including 40 participants from the Russian regional private recruitment agencies.

    International Youth Day (IYD) will be celebrated on 12 August 2003. The theme of this year’s celebrations will be youth employment. A major focus of the Day is practical action to encourage the empowerment and participation of youth in the processes and decisions that affect their lives and give a clear message that unemployment is the problem, and youth are the solution.

  1. Targeted Social Assistance Scheme Reviewed in Kazakhstan

    Upon the request of the Government of Kazakhstan the ILO is providing technical assistance aimed at assessment and improvement of the targeted social assistance scheme (TSA) that has been recently introduced in the country. The project, funded by UNDP-Kazakhstan and entitled “Decent Work: Integrated Approach to Social Sphere in Kazakhstan / Targeted Social Assistance Scheme” is implemented with a visit to three key cities – Astana, Karaganda and Almaty.

  2. National OSH Concept for Azerbaijan – Seminar in Baku

    ILO and Azerbaijan held 1-2 July in Baku a seminar on a national Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) concept for the country. The seminar is the first of its kind in the countries covered by the ILO Subregional Office, based on the national OSH profile prepared by the country and aiming at jointly defining a national concept for a future national OSH programme.

    The Ministry of Education and Science of Kazakhstan, by Decree from 14 June 2003, adopted a new educational programme, on the Basis of Market Economy, where the quality of the ILO Programme "Know About Business" (KAB) is fully recognized, and serves as basis for the part on "Know About Business".
