ILO's webinar on promoting transition from informal to formal economy and Global call to action for a human-centered recovery from COVID-19 crisis

The ILO Project "Transition from informal to formal economy" has been officially launched at the Webinar.

Participants in the Webinar included representatives of the Ministry of labour, Ministry of economy, Ministry of justice, Statistics committee, State Tax service, Social fund, workers' and employers' organizations, international organizations and expert community.

During the Webinar the ILO’s comprehensive approach on transition to formality through Theory of change publication,  information on a new ILO Project “Transition from informal to formal economy”, which covers two countries (Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan), as well as the Resolution on Global call to action for a human-centered recovery from COVID-19 crisis adopted at the International Labor Conference in June 2021 were shared and discussed.

Participants highlighted the timeliness of launching of a project on informal economy/ employment and called for efficient cooperation of all the key actors in tackling informality.
