As noted in the course of the training, the world practice of recent years has shown the ineffectiveness of the fragmented approach to employment promotion, as well as the need to directly integrate employment goals and targets into a long-term national development strategy, economic policies and sectoral programs. This needs to be supported by multi-component and coordinated employment policies that are adapted to local conditions and contexts, and negotiated by tripartite constituents.

Participants learned new skills of applying ILO's logically-based approaches to designing, implementing, monitoring and evaluating of an effective national employment policy. In particular, they got acquainted with the process and the main cycles of the employment policies development based on the tripartite social dialogue, learned the key elements of implementing the employment policy. Particular attention was paid to the issues of ensuring better coherence of employment policies with other government strategies and programs, including coordination mechanisms of implementation, financing, monitoring and evaluation.

Representatives of Uzbekistan had an opportunity not only to study the experience and success stories from other countries, but also shared the logic and key components of the Uzbek model of socio-economic reforms with participants from other countries.

At the end of the course, participants received certificates of completion from the ILO International Training Center in Turin.
