The workshop was opened by Eduard Tumasyan, TUCA Chairman, who after a welcome speech discussed the structure of the confederation, latest political developments in Armenia and trade union plans for the near future.

Gocha Alexandria, ILO senior specialist on workers’ activities, made a presentation “Labour Market, Informal Economy and Strategy for Trade Unions”.

The workshop was attended by the TUCA officials, representatives of sectoral trade unions and committees of grassroot industrial unions. There was an active discussion of both the workshop’s key topic and many other issues the real economy was faced with. Boris Kharatyan, TUCA Deputy Chairman, and Mikhail Piliposyan, head of the legal department, explained in detail all issues that interested the participants.

Group discussions were organised at the workshop, with projects and proposals presented by group leaders.

The workshop's outcomes were summed up by Garnik Vagarshakyan, head of the TUCA training and research centre.
