Azerbaijan Elected as Member of the ILO Governing Body

Accroding to the results of the vote of the three electoral colleges which met on 12 June 2017 during the 106th Session of the International Labour Conference in Geneva, Azerbaijan was elected the member of the ILO Governing Body for the perios 2017-20.

The Governing Body guides the work of the ILO between annual sessions of the International Labour Conference.

It comprises 28 government members, and 14 worker and 14 employer members. This executive council of the ILO meets three times a year in Geneva.

It takes decisions on action to give effect to ILO policy, prepares the draft programme and budget, which it then submits to the Conference for adoption, and elects the Director-General.
