"The purpose of creating the stickers is to raise awareness and encourage young people and other active audiences to reveal and report the use of child labour and forced labour in the country. It is the first such initiative launched by public authorities in Uzbekistan," the Ministry's spokesman told RIA Novosti.

Most of the 29 proposed stickers display the Ministry's hotline number where people can call for advice and assistance with issues affecting their labour rights. In addition to this, users are invited to send their ideas of new stickers to the Ministry's contest. Among other topics, the stickers advertise the legal aid available concerning employment and labour protection.

In May 2015, the Ministry of Labour of Uzbekistan launched a 24-hour hotline, currently responding to some 1.5 thousand requests, complaints and proposals every month.

As announced in November 2015, the World Bank's monitoring, involving ILO experts, of child labour in the cotton industry found no systemic involvement of minors in cotton harvesting in Uzbekistan over the previous harvesting season. However, one of the recommendations from the monitoring was to pursue further efforts to eliminate any risks of adults' forced labour in cotton harvesting.
