Objectives of the seminar:
  • To provide information on the immigration and temporary stay policies for foreign workers in the EU countries;
  • To describe the labour market situation in the Western Europe;
  • To increase understanding of the recruitment practices at the major private and public sector employers, as well as of the services and operations of public employment institutions.
  • To familiarize the participants with the ILO principles concerning the employment and recruitment of foreign workers.
The seminar demonstrated keen interest of the Russian society in the labour migration problems. As M. Topilin, Deputy Minister of Labour noted in his welcoming speech, in the globalized world the questions of free movements of labor as well as of the protection of migrant workers’ rights come on top of the agenda and require a comprehensive and balanced approach..
