Tripartite meeting on Labour Administration Facing the Jobs Crisis

On September 21-22 Moscow hosted a tripartite meeting on Labour Administration Facing the Jobs Crisis. The meeting was convened to sum up the results of the ILO project Promotion of Good Governance in Labour Administration in the Caucasus and Central Asia.

The project was implemented in Armenia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan in 2007-2009 and financed by the German government.

Taking part in the event were representatives of governments, employers’ associations and trade unions from pilot countries, social and labour relations specialists from Russia, Slovenia and Britain as well as ILO experts. They discussed the impact of the economic crisis on the field of employment and social policy, the role of labour inspections and employment services in the fight against crisis as well as recovery measures taken by the government. Special attention was paid to the role of social dialogue in times of crisis.
