    The Pan-European Regional Council of the International Trade Union Confederation (ITUC-PERC) in cooperation with the ILO organized a subregional meeting for trade union leaders focusing on informal employment. The meeting took place in Kyrgyzstan’s resort of Issyk-Kul on July 23-25.

  4. More than 70 children in Bishkek and Osh will be enrolled to evening classes

    Evening classes will be opened on the basis of secondary schools in Kyrgyzstan’s Bishkek and Osh, where more than 70 working children will be able to get education.

    Signing of the Agreement of Cooperation between the Federation of Trade Unions of Kyrgyzstan and the Confederation of Trade Unions of Georgia (GTUC) took place on the 29th of May in Tbilisi. It coincided with the first day of the work of the ILO/PERC/ITUC Sub- regional Network Meeting on “Promotion of Social protections ILO conventions of the women networks in member organizations of the ITUC/PERC and collective bargaining.

  6. Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan sharing knowledge in combating child labour

    Within the framework of activities carried out by the ILO’s International Programme on the Elimination of Child Labour (ILO-IPEC) in Central Asia two study tours were organized for tripartite partners in the region to learn experience of combating child labour in Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan.

  7. Confederation of Labour of Russia developing migration strategy

    On April 16 Moscow hosted a conference on management, representation and protection of labour migrants’ rights and trade unions’ experience and prospects. It was organized by the Centre for Social and Labour Rights, the Confederation of Labour of Russia and the International Union of Food, Agricultural, Hotel, Restaurant, Catering, Tobacco and Allied Workers’ Associations (IUF).

  8. Child labour tops agenda of Kyrgyz parliamentary committee’s session

    Following the education forum held in December 2012 with some parliamentarians participating, the Trade Union of Education and Science Workers of Kyrgyzstan in close cooperation with the the ILO’s International Programme on the Elimination of Child Labour (ILO-IPEC) mainstreamed child labour concerns into the agenda of the regular meeting of the parliament’s Committee on Education, Culture, Science, Information and Religious Policy held on April 16.
