    On October 1, Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population and State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs signed a joint action plan to eliminate child labour drafted within the framework of the EU twinning project for 2013-2015.

  2. International Youth Day in Azerbaijan

    On August 12 a meeting on the occasion of the International Youth Day, focusing in 2013 on “Youth Migration: Moving Development Forward”, took place at the UN Office in Baku and brought together representatives of youth NGOs, experts from the ILO, the United Nations Department of Public Information and the International Organization for Migration.

  3. Trade union leaders meet to discuss informal employment

    The Pan-European Regional Council of the International Trade Union Confederation (ITUC-PERC) in cooperation with the ILO organized a subregional meeting for trade union leaders focusing on informal employment. The meeting took place in Kyrgyzstan’s resort of Issyk-Kul on July 23-25.

  4. ILO steps up cooperation in youth employment with Azerbaijan

    On May 30 Azerbaijan’s Labour and Social Protection Minister Fizuli Alekperov met with ILO Moscow Senior Employment Specialist Olga Koulaeva to discuss the implementation of ILO’s new project Partnerships for Youth Employment in the Commonwealth of Independent States.

  5. Signing of the Agreement of Cooperation between the Federation of Trade Unions of Kyrgyzstan and the Confederation of Trade Unions of Georgia

    Signing of the Agreement of Cooperation between the Federation of Trade Unions of Kyrgyzstan and the Confederation of Trade Unions of Georgia (GTUC) took place on the 29th of May in Tbilisi. It coincided with the first day of the work of the ILO/PERC/ITUC Sub- regional Network Meeting on “Promotion of Social protections ILO conventions of the women networks in member organizations of the ITUC/PERC and collective bargaining.

  6. Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan sharing knowledge in combating child labour

    Within the framework of activities carried out by the ILO’s International Programme on the Elimination of Child Labour (ILO-IPEC) in Central Asia two study tours were organized for tripartite partners in the region to learn experience of combating child labour in Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan.
