  • conducts technical cooperation projects to strengthen the capacity of governments and of employers' and workers' organizations and other relevant stakeholders' (such as non-governmental organizations and migrant associations) to deal with a wide range of labour migrations issues, including
    1. the protection of the rights of migrant workers
    2. governance (developing and implementing gender-sensitive labour migration policies)
    3. social security (extending coverage for migrant workers and their families)
    4. skills development and recognition
    5. financial and social remittances
    6. increased awareness of the link between labour migration policy and wider labour market policies, at national as well as regional level.
The International Training Centre (ITC) of the ILO in Turin, Italy collaborates closely with MIGRANT in the area of capacity building.
