The ILO Country Office for the Philippines (ILO CO-Manila) in collaboration with the MDG Fund Joint Programme on Alternatives to Migration: Decent Jobs for Filipino Youth has partnered with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) to conduct the Training of Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Trainers on Entrepreneurship.

TESDA’s current direction is to strengthen its skills development programme through the integration of entrepreneurship in its curriculum. Hence, the ILO’s support will focus on increasing TESDA’s capacity in terms of developing a pool of Trainors within TESDA and among the teachers in the technical vocational institutions as well as preparing a strategy to better integrate entrepreneurship in the technical vocational training curriculum.

The training, which targets key technical training institute (TTI) across the country, is aligned towards achieving the objectives of PHL 104 ‘Entrepreneurship and sustainable enterprise development policies and programs implemented for green, productive and decent employment and income opportunities’ of the Philippines Decent Work Country Programme. Moreover, it is one of the critical activities to sustain the entrepreneurship development component of the Joint Programme.
