Promoting decent work for migrant health professionals

The EU funded Decent Work Across Borders: A pilot project for migrant health professionals and skilled workers will be launched on 6 July 2012 in Manila. For the occasion, the project's advisory committee composed of representatives of the government, employers, trade union and professional organizations will meet and endorsed the 3-year project to be implemented in the Philippines, India and Viet Nam as major source countries of health professionals bound to Europe. The project aims to better understand temporary migration schemes and develop adequate services for this particular group of migrant workers.
