Roundtable Discussion and Project Advisory Committee Meeting on Green Jobs Initiative
The roundtable discussion presented the ILO’s Green Jobs Initiative and discussed green jobs activities in the Philippines, including the role of government, employers’ and workers organizations. The roundtable discussion was followed by a Project Advisory Committee meeting, whose agenda were devoted entirely on the launching of the Green Jobs in Asia Project.
Representatives of the Philippine Government, employers’ and workers’ organizations, non-government organizations and green jobs advocates shared ideas and experiences on greening economic activities in a roundtable discussion. The discussion highlighted the importance of green jobs in relation to decent and productive work including its benefits and challenges.
The roundtable discussion was followed by a Project Advisory Committee meeting, whose agenda were devoted entirely on the launching of the Green Jobs in Asia Project. The PAC endorsed the Green Jobs in Asia Project, reviewed the TOR of PAC, updates on the National Green Jobs Conference and the scoping preparation process for the sector demonstration project.
