Responsible supply chain

Responsible supply chains in Asia: Fact sheet

The “Responsible Supply Chains in Asia” project implemented by International Labour Organization (ILO) and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and financed by the European Union (EU) aims to contribute to an enhanced respect for human rights, labour and environmental standards by businesses engaged in supply chains in Asia, in line with international instruments.

The specific objective of the Project in the Philippines is to implement interventions in the food industry. Food products from the Philippines represent 14 per cent of the products imported into the EU and the flows for these products have been growing rapidly in recent years. Linking to the agricultural value chains, this sector contributes to the livelihood of over 10 million people employed in agriculture, hunting, forestry and fishery.
