Employment and livelihood damage assessment: Post-Sendong conditions in Cagayan de Oro City

The study was conducted in 29 heavily affected barangays of Cagayan de Oro City based on the Regional Development Council report. Primary and secondary data gathered through structured interviews and coordination with government and non-government agencies were subjected to descriptive data analysis.

The effect of the disaster was more heavily felt in the micro-, small- and medium-establishments operating in the households of the affected areas. This finding implied a heavier burden on the household economy and therefore called for intervention in terms of livelihood and employment.
