Through the contribution of the Government of Japan, the ILO immediately worked with the Philippine government and humanitarian partners in providing emergency employment in typhoon affected workers.
Upon the project’s completion, 6,740 poor and vulnerable workers and their families will have increased their incomes, improved their livelihood opportunities and employability (through increased skills), contributing to re-establishing sustainable livelihoods in the areas targeted by the five field offices in Tacloban City, Ormoc City covering Leyte province, Cebu City covering Northern Cebu and Negros Occidental, Coron, Palawan and Tagbilaran City, Bohol.
