    ILO, ECOP and Nestle Philippines conduct In Business Soft Skills Workshop for Women in the workplace.

  2. Community Emergency Employment Programme orientation in North Cotabato

    4 November 2020

    The ILO-Japan Water and Sanitation Project in partnership with the Ministry of Labor and Employment (MOLE) has conducted an orientation on the Community Emergency Employment Programme in Kabacan, North Cotabato.

  3. ILO-TESDA STEM in TVET curriculum guide workshop

    23 October - 3 November 2020

    The International Labour Organization (ILO) and the Technical Education Skills Development Authority is organizing a 5-day Online Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) in Technical Vocational Education (TVET) curriculum workshop.

  4. Management structure, operation and maintenance of a water system workshop

    19 October 2020

    With focus on the management structure and roles and responsibilities of the stakeholders, partners from South Upi, Maguindanao gathered to discuss the operation and maintenance of the water system built under the ILO-Japan Water and Sanitation Project .

  5. Social protection orientation in Lanao del Sur

    15 - 17 October 2020

    The ILO-Japan Water and Sanitation Project conducted a series of orientation on social protection in Lanao del Sur. A Single Drop for Safe Water (ASDSW) and the Katutungan Irrigators Association (KIA) as project partners organized the orientation with workers to be hired for the water system construction.

  6. Operation and maintenance of a water system workshop

    12 - 13 October 2020

    Partners from South Upi, Maguindanao conducted a virtual workshop on operation and maintenance of the water system built under the ILO-Japan Water and Sanitation Project.

  7. Country Launch of the International Labour Organization (ILO) Research Brief on Leading to Success: The Business Case for Women in Business and Management in the Philippines

    23 September 2020

    The research briefs aim to present evidence on the business case for women in business and management. They include findings on areas such as profitability, productivity, women in leadership, and the link between gender balance on boards and improved business outcomes.

  8. Mapping Social and Solidarity Economy in Asia

    22 September 2020

    This conference will discuss policies to strengthen social and solidarity economy in South Korea, China, Japan, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines.

  9. ILO-Japan Project and A Single Drop for Safe Water ink partnership

    9 September 2020

    The ILO-Japan Water and Sanitation Project and A Single Drop for Safe Water inked a partnership agreement to construct a water system and to increase employment opportunities in BARMM.

  10. ILO-Japan Project and BDA partner for water system in indigenous communities

    4 September 2020

    The ILO-Japan Water and Sanitation Project and the Bangsamoro Development Agency partner for the construction of water systems in indigenous communities in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).

  11. Skills training on masonry and plumbing for safe water access in BARMM

    The local government and partners from Timanan, South Upi conducted a skills training on masonry and plumbing with onsite demonstration under the ILO-Japan Water and Sanitation Project in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).

    This webinar will offer trade unionists in Asia-Pacific an opportunity to discuss “Pillar 3: Protecting workers in the workplace” while exploring possible actions and strategies to influence, shape and support successful policy outcomes linked to the ILO Policy Framework.

  13. ILO, WHO and the Government of the Philippines Joint Meeting on Safe Return to Work for MSMEs

    22 July 2020

    Following the recent discussion with the WHO Country Office in the Philippines, the International Labour Organization (ILO) explored an opportunity for a joint meeting with DOLE, DOH, DTI and MOLE to further discuss and identify strategies on how to align ILO and WHO support to the safe return to work/safe workplace, particularly of Micro, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSMEs) to the key public health interventions of DOH and WHO.

  14. ILO Webinar on COVID-19:Supporting Enterprises, Jobs and Income in Asia and Pacific

    16 July 2020

    This webinar, part of the ACTRAV Webinar Series 2.0, will explore how to cushion the devastating consequences for the loss of income many workers face during lockdown as well as the policies in place such as wage subsidies, job retention schemes and other efforts in terms of short-term support and extension of social protection. Trade union strategies that can influence, shape and support these actions will also be discussed.

  15. Skills for a Resilient Youth in the Era of COVID-19 and Beyond

    The World Youth Skills Day 2020 will take stock of the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on skills development and explore how young people can respond to the economic crisis. The focus will be on helping young people be more resilient to changes caused by the current crisis and in the world of work in general.

  16. Online training on safe return to work in Timanan

    6 July 2020

    The ILO-Japan Water and Sanitation Project conducted an online training on safe return to work during COVID-19 and a review of activities to complete the construction of a water system in a school in Timanan.

  19. Book Launch: "An ILO For All Seasons"

    Over a hundred years, the ILO has developed International Labour Standards and Policy Responses to mitigate the effects of employment and social crises. 2020 will be remembered as the year the world of work was brought to its knees by the COVID-19 pandemic. ​The COVID-19 pandemic has shown how hasards move in a globalized world. It has highlighted the need to use the tools that are available for countering social and economic crises and securing the safety and health of workers. This book traces the development of these tools and the ways in which they have been successfully applied over the last hundred years.

  20. Risk assessment on water system construction and improvement

    Partners from South Upi under the ILO-Japan Water and Sanitation Project conducted a risk assessment to ensure safe return to work during COVID-19 and to complete the construction of a water system in a school in Timanan.
