Skills training on masonry and plumbing for safe water access in BARMM
The local government and partners from Timanan, South Upi conducted a skills training on masonry and plumbing with onsite demonstration under the ILO-Japan Water and Sanitation Project in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).

The ILO-Japan Water and Sanitation Project conducted a skills training on masonry and plumbing with onsite demonstration with the local government and partners from Timanan, South Upi in Maguindanao. The training was part of improving and rehabilitating the Timanan Central Elementary School Level II Water System.

The training aimed at enhancing knowledge and skills of selected workers in plumbing and masonry works. Topics included preparation and installation of reinforcing bars, right mixture of aggregates and other critical steps on masonry works. For plumbing, participants gained more knowledge and skills on proper embedding, lay outing and joining of pipes.

The Municipal Planning and Development Office (MPDO) organized the skills training including the preparation of the training design in consultation with the ILO project team.
