Building a Generation of Safe and Healthy Workers (SafeYouth@Work) Project Convenes its 3rd Project Steering Committee (PSC) Meeting

The meeting gathered PSC members to discuss updates on the following: 1) ongoing activities for 2017 including activities for the World Day for Safety and Health on April 28; 2) on additional member-agencies and organizations that will be represented in the Committee; and, 3) on upcoming project activities and the corresponding Terms of Reference. Ongoing activities discussed during the meeting included the identification of data sources and gaps for the national OSH profile, the initial research results on the notification and recording system for occupational injuries and illnesses as well as the review of the occupational safety and health standards (OSHS).

The PSC also discussed the planned activities for World Day for Safety and Health to include a Flash Mob event that will be participated in by project partners as well as youth representatives. On upcoming activities, the PSC were informed that the complementary project Youth4OSH will soon be launched in the Philippines and that same will be closely linked with the SafeYouth@Work activities on knowledge and awareness raising on OSH among young workers.
