Validation of gap analysis on laws on child labour and working conditions in small scale gold mining

The ILO CARING Gold Project will hold a roundtable discussion to validate the gap analysis and recommendations on laws covering child labour and working conditions in artisanal and small scale gold mining.

The Convening Stakeholders to Develop and Implement Strategies to Reduce Child Labour and Improve Working Conditions in Artisanal and Small-Scale Gold Mining or ILO CARING Gold Project will hold a roundtable discussion and validate findings of a gap analysis.

The Gap analysis and recommendations covered laws on child labour and working conditions in artisanal and small-scale gold mining (ASGM). One of the key project components is to enhance these existing laws to become more responsive to the situation of the artisanal and small-scale gold mining miners and communities.

Key findings and recommendations of the gap analysis study will be presented to a group of stakeholders, representing government agencies, workers and employers organizations and national artisanal and small-scale gold mining coalition.
