Validation Workshop on Study on Child Labour and Social Protection

The Country Level Engagement and Assistance to Reduce Child Labor (CLEAR) Project held a one-day workshop to discuss and validate the results of the study on "Review of the Effectiveness and Potential of Social Protection Programs in Addressing Child Labour in the Philippines".

A list of recommendations spanning social protection areas of social transfers, labour market interventions, social welfare and social safety nets to address child labour were adopted by the participants. These will then be inputted into the ongoing Assessment Based National Dialogues (ABND) process which will pave the way for the creation of a Social Protection Floor in the country. The activity was held at the ILO Auditorium last 14 July 2015 and was attended by 23 participants coming from different government agencies led by DOLE and NEDA, co-chairs of the ABND Core Group, and representatives from workers' organizations and civil society.
