Stakeholders Workshop Towards a Participatory Impact Assessment of Domestic Workers situation in the Philippines

This workshop aims to assess the outcomes of the Batas Kasambahay and changes in the domestic work sector since its enactment by developing impact assessment methodology relevant and suitable to the priorities of the Philippine stakeholders and national context.

The ILO Country Office for the Philippines, in coordination with the tripartite-plus Domestic Work Technical Working Group, conducted an “Inception Workshop Towards a Participatory Impact Assessment of the Domestic Workers Law and Domestic Workers’ Situation in the Philippines,” on 24, 25 and 28 April 2015, at St. Francis Suites, Mandaluyong City.
 
This workshop aims to assess the outcomes of the Batas Kasambahay and changes in the domestic work sector since its enactment by developing impact assessment methodology relevant and suitable to the priorities of the Philippine stakeholders and national context. This workshop takes a two-tiered approach. The first two days entail a series of group and plenary discussions among different sectors and clusters to establish consensus. The output of this process will be a working document that to be presented in the plenum on the 3rd workshop day, 28 April, wherein sixteen (16) key representatives from different sectors/ clusters will be invited back for another round of consensus building using the Delphi technique.
 
The workshop will be attended by key stakeholders from various government agencies, local government units, workers groups, employers’ organizations, civil society organizations, domestic workers and household employer representatives.
