Notes:
1) The source field contains such information as the volume and page numbers of printed publications, the publisher's address in the case of books and audiovisual material, and the format and duration of video documents.
2) Indexing terms ("descriptors") are organized semantically in the CIS Thesaurus. This organization is encoded by alphabetic "facet codes" that are independent of language. Searching on facet codes with right truncation is an efficient way of retrieving references to several related concepts that are spelled in ways that prohibit truncated searching on the terms themselves. For example, the query DF=Jmi* will retrieve all abstracts indexed with a descriptor referring to ladders, whether simply "ladders" (Jmi), "fixed ladders" (Jmif), "step ladders" (Jmipa) or another of the seven "ladder" descriptors.
