Sustainable enterprises through MSMEs

Constituents and stakeholders, provincial, and local levels have promoted more and better jobs, especially for young women, men and disadvantaged groups

The project focuses on addressing the constraints related to growth, job creation and fostering small and medium enterprises through specific policy, supporting institutions, capacity building, specific financial products, information and technology and improving labour relations.

Project Objectives:

The project aims to take forward Enabling Environment for Sustainable Enterprises (EESE) study major recommendations in order to contribute to removing key constraints to MSMEs, investment and employment creation by:

(i)   providing support to developing the capacity of the government and social partners to formulate and advocate for reform;
(ii)  encouraging social dialogue on enterprise development and job creation; and
(iii) addressing a number of identified challenges at national and provincial level, in particular challenges related to access to finance.

Project Milestones:

Milestone 1: Tripartite constituents have improved capacity to participate in coordination mechanism on MSME enabling environment promotion
Milestone 2: Increased job opportunities for women and youth, including the returnee migrants, who have lost employment and income opportunities due to COVID, in agriculture sector MSMEs, especially in rice value chain.
Milestone 3: MSMEs have improved access to adapt and affordable financial services.
Milestone 4: Constituents' have implemented programmes to improve labour relations in MSMEs in at least 2 sectors (Agriculture and Manufacturing)
