A seminar cum interaction programme on Youth Employment in Domestic Labour Market was organized on 26 September 2017 to provide information on the current policies and practices in three sectors including agriculture, infrastructure and manufacturing sectors and to develop a results oriented action plan.
National Workshop on ILO Recommendation 204 and developing National Roadmap for Formalizing Informal Economy in Nepal

The Ministry of Labour and Employment together with its social partners will organize a weeklong series of events in Kathmandu and nationwide to mark World Day for Safety and Health (OSH) at Work which include mass awareness rally on 28 April 2016, radio-talk, workshops and interaction programmes. The ILO is supporting the Department of Labour to organize an interaction programme on 4 May 2016 which will focus on an introduction of OSH, workplace stress and OSH in post-earthquake re-construction work.

The ILO in collaboration with the Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS) and the Ministry of Labour and Employment (MoLE) are organizing a half day workshop for finalizing and sharing definition and indicators of Informal Economy for Nepal. The Government ministries, Departments, Employers and Workers representatives as well as other key actors are participating in the workshop. Mr Tite Habiyakare, Regional Labour Statistician from ILO's Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific, Bangkok will facilitate the workshop which is organized by the ILO's Way Out of Informality (WoI) Project funded by the Government of Japan.

The ILO’s FAIR project is currently implementing in collaboration with BWJ a pilot intervention model to eliminate deceptive and coercive recruitment practices in the apparel industry in Jordan and thus reduce the vulnerability of migrant workers to forced labour. The aim of this pilot intervention is to demonstrate that fair recruitment is possible and that it benefits both employers and workers. A one-day workshop will be organized on April 11th, 2016 in Amman to present the objectives and expected results of this pilot programme.
