Memorandum of Understanding signed between Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry and Human Resources Society of Nepal

The Vice President of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), Mr Shekhar Golchha and the President of the Human Resources Society of Nepal (HRSN), Mr Kumar Joshi, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote Human Resource Management for good employment practices among employers in Nepal in line with ILO’s core labour standards which will foster better employer-employee relations.

The HRSN will work with FNCCI to put in place appropriate responses to the human resource needs of enterprises and to promote social dialogue and sound industrial relations.

Mr Jose Assalino, Director, ILO Country Office for Nepal and Mr Ravindra Peiris, Senior Specialist on Employers’ Activities from ILO Decent Work Technical Team (DWT), New Delhi  highlighted the importance of human resources management for the competitiveness of the  enterprises, and the improvement of working conditions.

The collaboration between FNCCI and HRSN is a milestone for industrial relations in Nepal. The ILO Bureau for Employers’ Activities (ACT/EMP) promoted the initiative and will extend technical assistance as required.
