Productive employment and decent work for all are very much in focus as Mongolia embarks on a visionary transformation of the country from a natural resource-based to a human resource-based economy. This has been clearly manifested in the implementation of a comprehensive process of participatory and bottom-up tripartite consultations. Regional employment fora, organised jointly by the Government and the social partners in some 22 'aimags', led up to and culminated in a National Employment Conference in October 2010 and in the subsequent declaration of 2011 as the Year of Employment Promotion.
