Labourers' survey, April 2015

The survey aims to gain insight into the benefits R4D labourers have derived from their employment with contractors carrying out R4D works. Benefits have been measured in terms of wages earned, the utilization of those wages and the impact on household decision making processes.

Changes in labourers’ skills and changes in their ability to learn new skills from their employment with R4D have also been examined. Lastly, the Survey has provided some information about the impact of employment on female construction labourers in terms of their position within the household and their level of confidence and capacity to be involved in physical works.
