To benefit from the free trade agreements trade and employment policies should be in coherence, this way the goal for achieving decent work for all can be ensured. Through the ETE project, funded by the European Commission, the International Labor Organization in collaboration with the Ministry of Manpower and Transmigration organized a five-day knowledge sharing workshop from 12-16 July 2010 in Jakarta.

The workshop intended to promote the capacity of government officials, trade unions and employers on understanding the issues of trade and employment. The workshop was participated by representatives from such various agencies as the Ministry of Manpower and Transmigration, Ministry of Trade, Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs, Ministry of Industry, BAPPENAS, BPS (National Statistics Office) and Trade Unions as well as APINDO.
