  1. Child domestic workers' song: I will reach my dream

    Child domestic workers at a learning centre in the suburbs of Jakarta dances to the tune of "Our song: I will reach my dream". The centre, run by an NGO Mitra Imadel, provides training to child domestic workers. It is operated under the ILO PROMOTE project funded by the US Department of Labor. PROMOTE aims to bring about a lasting end to child domestic labour, focusing on expanding legal protection for child and adult domestic workers. March 2013

    Shot and produced by the International Labour Organization's Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific, this short video shows how workers, employers, entrepreneurs and the environment can all benefit from the move toward green jobs in Indonesia's tourism sector. The Green Jobs in Asia project, supported by the Australian Government - ILO Partnership Agreement (2010-2015), has been working with two government ministries in Indonesia, training more than 250 tour guides and homestay operators on innovative ways to improve eco-tourism for the benefit of all.

    Career and Employment Guidance Centre (CEOP) was established under the Secretariat of State for Vocational Training and Employment Self Employment Promotion (SEFOPE) in Timor-Leste to provide training opportunities and employment support services for Timorese Women and Men.   1. Indonesia: The Next Generation of Papua

    The documentary depicts the journey of three young Papuans to obtain decent jobs through education and skills training programmes conducted by the ILO in Jayapura, Papua. The documentary documents the recruitment of out of school youth, training and skills development process and the employment situation after receiving the training. It also provides an understanding of the challenges and opportunities faced by the young Papuans to have better access to skills trainings and jobs opportunities.

  2. Timor-Leste: Visit of Australian Senator Hon. Jacinta Collins to Timor-Leste

    This short movie is a documentation of the visit of Australian Senator Hon. Jacinta Collins to Timor-Leste. It highlights the trip of the Senator to the district of Liquiça to observe at first hand some self-employment initiatives of the Youth Employment Promotion Programme. The movie notes the success of the Programme and how it is achieving positive outcomes in Timor-Leste. In addition, the movie stresses how the YEP Programme demonstrates the practical and real difference the Australian Government is making through the Australia-ILO Partnership Agreement.

    The President of Indonesia, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, has called for a global coalition to tackle youth employment in an address to a special session of the 100th International Labour Conference (ILC) in Geneva. The President called on delegates to work together to prevent increasing unemployment among young people, saying this would be critical to creating a new era of social justice.
