    In line with the this year’s theme of the 2018 World AIDS Day, the ILO conducted an interactive talkshow highlighting the importance of knowing your HIV status and efforts to eliminate stigma and discrimination against workers with HIV at the workplaces.

  7. Southeast Asia to strengthen efforts to end human trafficking and forced labour in the fishing industry

    Government, employer, worker and civil society representatives from eight Southeast Asian countries have reached an agreement to establish the Southeast Asian Forum to End Trafficking in Persons and Forced Labour of Fishers (SEA Forum for Fishers) and have committed to an inaugural plenary meeting in 2019.

  8. Eliminating discrimination through non-discriminatory workplace policies

    To commemorate this year’s World AIDS Day, the ILO is organizing an interactive discussion in Jakarta regarding the importance of knowing your status and non-discriminatory policies at the workplace. The event will include a radio talkshow on key principles of testing and actions that both companies and workers have taken to ensure the implementation of non-discriminatory policies at workplace.

  9. Enhancing OSH in the workplace, through social dialogue

    National occupational safety and health (OSH) systems can be improved and strengthened by creating a culture of prevention through meaningful social dialogue. This requires effective cooperation and collaboration among government, employer and worker representatives—as equal and independent partners—to find solutions to issues of common concern. Indonesia is rapidly improving its national OSH system and building a culture of prevention through effective social dialogue at national and enterprise levels.

  10. ASEAN to tackle youth unemployment through digital economy

    ASEAN member states intensified their efforts to make the best use of the digital economy to tackle youth unemployment. The ILO together with the Indonesian Ministry of Manpower and the ASEAN Secretariat supported the efforts.
