Celebrating the ILO’s 100th anniversary in Indonesia

A series of activities to mark the 100th anniversary of the ILO were conducted by ILO Jakarta Office and its constituents. The ILO 100 is also marked the Indonesia’s 69 year journey with the ILO.

ILO 100 Photo Booth at the National Job Fair and Talent Fest

Celebrating the 100th anniversary of the ILO, the Ministry of Manpower invited the ILO to place the ILO 100 photo booth at the annually event of National Job Fair. This annual job fair always attracted thousands of job seekers, particularly young people.

Under this year’s theme, “Connect Your Potentials to The Future Possibilities”, the two-day job fair, held from 22-23 March, was officially opened by H.E. Jusuf Kalla, Vice President of Indonesia.

It is one of the efforts taken by the ILO Jakarta Office and its constituents to bring higher awareness to young people and public at large on promoting social justice and advancing decent work."

Around 157 companies participated in the event, with 18,148 vacancies in 1,242 occupations. As side events, interactive talk shows with successful young entrepreneurs and people with disabilities were conducted.

The ILO photo booth that strategically located at the event attracted many visitors. “It is one of the efforts taken by the ILO Jakarta Office and its constituents to bring higher awareness to young people and public at large on promoting social justice and advancing decent work,” said Michiko Miyamoto, Country Director of the ILO in Indonesia.

Ministry of Manpower supported the celebration of the ILO 100

 
The ILO participated in a series of workshops titled “International Manpower Dialogue Forum on Industrial Relations” conducted by the Ministry of Manpower in three provinces (Riau, Central Java and East Nusa Tenggara) in February and March. The dialogues were conducted as part of the participation and contribution of the Indonesia through its Ministry of Manpower, as the member State of the ILO, to celebrate the ILO’s 100th anniversary.

Together with the participants, Haiyani Rumondang, Director General for Industrial Relations and Social Security, congratulated the ILO for its long standing commitment to promoting decent work and advancing social justice."

The workshops were aimed to raise the awareness on issues related to future of work, equal employment opportunity and draft convention on ending violence and harassment in the world of work. The workshops were attended by a total of 200 participants representing local government offices, workers’ and employers’ organizations with an equal balance between male and female participants.

Together with the participants, Haiyani Rumondang, Director General for Industrial Relations and Social Security, congratulated the ILO for its long standing commitment to promoting decent work and advancing social justice.


ILO Jakarta Office celebrate the ILO 100

ILO Jakarta Office is celebrating the 100th anniversary of the ILO on 11 April. The celebration is marked with the cutting of the ILO 100 cake by the Country Director of ILO in Indonesia, Michiko Miyamoto. The ILO staff join the celebration with the attributes of ILO 100.

On the same day, a marathon of performances and presentations circulated the globe for 24 hours in celebration of the ILO’s 100th anniversary.
