9789221218630 1/8/2009 Working Papers
English
CL includes work children do:all forms of economic activity & domestic chores. Int¿l conventions define CL as work harmful to the child. The paper argues that whether or not an activity is harmful to a child depends on what he/she would be doing instead. A discrete decline in school attendance rates for children who work between 35/38 hours p/week is shown. Thus, ¿child labour¿ must be based on a measure of the intensity of work, regardless of where or the type of output generated.
