Child labour and businesses: role and opportunities for investors

Socially responsible investing groups have long been involved in the worldwide movement against child labour. Investors are increasingly interested in gathering robust information about the way companies manage the risk of child labour in their supply chains. The Child Labour Platform is a cross-sectoral, business-led initiative for exchange and learning about effective practices to combat child labour. Benjamin Smith, Senior Officer for CSR for IPEC-FPRW, presents the CLP to a group of socially responsible investors and banks in Stockholm, Sweden, and discusses what investors and businesses can do to to prevent and remediate child labour in supply chains.
