Report on the roles and responsibilities of social actors(Child Rights Information Centre, International Centre "La Strada", Free International University of Moldova, Balti State University "Alecu Russo", Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe) in addressing child labour issues.
The 2009 Children's Activities Survey (CAS) was conducted by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) of the Republic of Moldova, in collaboration with IPEC, as a module of the Labour Force Survey in the last quarter of 2009. The survey covered 11,526 households containing 34,157 individuals, 6,784 of whom were children between the ages of 5-17 years. The CAS was designed to provide indicators on three main aspects of children¿s lives: economic activity, schooling and unpaid household services.
The present manual is an example of collaborative effort between organizations and resourcepersons directly involved in the psycho-social rehabilitation of children withdrawn fromtrafficking and other worst forms of child labour in Bulgaria, Moldova, Romania and Ukraine. Wehope it offers an in-depth understanding of the WFCL, and of the psychosocial methodologiesfor the rehabilitation of the child withdrawn from them.
These good practices represent the work of a whole range of organizations and bodies involved in efforts to eliminate trafficking and other worst forms of child labour in Central and Eastern Europe. In addition to implementing the various activities described herein, they have been active participants in the process of identifying, documenting, validating and sharing the good practices, of which this document is the fruit.
These Guidelines were designed within the Action Programme ¿Empowering Community Youth Centers and Municipal and District Commissions against Trafficking to Reduce Vulnerability of Minors to Trafficking, Identify Potential Victims, and Facilitate Social Inclusion of Returnees¿. These Guidelines are based on the local experience and good practices of IPEC that have been adapted by the National Centre for Child Abuse Prevention (NCCAP) with the support of IPEC.
