    The analysis includes current primary norms (the Constitution, international conventions and laws) and secondary norms (regulations, executive decrees, ministerial agreements and relevant municipal ordinances). Recommendations for improving this juridical framework are made at the end.

    The analysis of the context of educational policy and strategies in Ecuador includes the philosophy, proposals, agreements and recommendations made by ILO-IPEC, and recommends projects and programmes to lead to the eliminationof the worst forms of child labour through efficient, effective, pertinent and sustainable actions for including the issue in government policies and those of the government and the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports and Recreation.

  2. Executive Summary: Magnitude, characteristics and environment of sexual exploitation of girls and adolescents in Ecuador

    The study was carried out in the cities of Guayaquil, Quito and Machala, the Ecuadoran cities with the greatest number of commercial sex establishments and sex workers. One of the principal findings of the study is to received little attention from the government, international organisations and some of the NGOs working on issues involving children and adolescents.

  3. Executive Summary Baseline for the prevention and gradual elimination of child labour in the flower industry in the districts of Cayambe and Pedro Moncayo, Ecuador

    This study was made with the objetive to identify 1,000 children working on flower farms in Cayambe and Pedro Moncayo, determine their working conditions and family and educational situation, discover their perceptions of their work, identify dangerous processes, explore the dynamics and relationships related to social responses to child labour in the flower industry, and identify the characteristics of the socio-economic situation in this districts.
