Town Hall Meeting on Greening the ILO

Dear colleagues,

Are you aware of the measures that have already been undertaken by the ILO to reduce its CO2 emissions? Did you know that the ILO is part of the Genève-Lac Nations Project and that as a result, the ILO HQ is saving 40 CO2 t/year by using Lake Geneva’s water to pre-cool the building? Are you are interested in what the ILO is doing to increase Teleconference meetings, thereby reducing the need for travel and thereby Greenhouse Gas emissions?

Join us, you will learn about these initiatives, what you can do and much more!!

As such, this Friday 13th November, from 12.30-13:30 the Library will host a “Town Hall Meeting” in regards to the ILO’s work on reducing its environmental impact, and, in particular, on our work to become “Climate Neutral”. This is the scope of the work undertaken by the Task Force on Greening the ILO whose mandate and members will also been explained. The meeting will also serve to gather proposals on how to effectively engage ILO staff in the process, as well as to assemble ideas and suggestions on reducing energy consumption and making the ILO a more environmentally friendly organization.

Please join us! The ILO needs your contribution and suggestions to make our environmental strategy a reality!
