    Contains information on the employment termination laws of some 85 countries. Search legislation using over 50 variables addressing all the key topics of employment protection legislation.

    A global knowledge sharing platform for the extension of social protection. Includes resources, tools and services for the extension of social security.

  8. ILO Thesaurus

    The ILO Thesaurus is a compilation of more than 4000 terms relating to the world of work, in English, French, and Spanish. It contains terms on a wide variety of topics related to economic and social development. Areas of major interest to the ILO are treated in detail.

  9. ILO Taxonomy

    The ILO Taxonomy was designed by the ILO Library as a tool for retrieving information from the ILO website. It is well suited for use as a subject classification system for arranging collections in small libraries or labour information centres.

  10. ILO/World Bank Inventory of policy responses to the global financial and economic crisis of 2008

    Documents policy responses taken by 77 countries since the start of the financial and economic crisis of 2008. It is organized around seven categories: macroeconomic policies; measures to increase labour demand; active labour market policies; unemployment benefits; social protection measures; social dialogue and labour standards.


    Provides recent labour data for over 100 indicators and 165 economies. Annual data prior to 2008 and additional information, such as sources and methods, are still available in LABORSTA and gradually will be migrated to ILOSTAT.

  13. International Chemical Safety Cards (ICSCs)

    Summarizes essential health and safety information on chemicals for their use at the "shop floor" level by workers and employers in factories, agriculture, construction and other work places.

  14. International Standard Classification of Occupations ISCO-08

    The International Standard Classification of Occupations is a tool for organising jobs into a clearly defined set of groups according to the tasks and duties undertaken in the job. It is intended both for statistical users and for human resources professionals.

  15. ISSA Country Profiles

    Country Profiles serve as an overview of social security programmes in the Americas, Africa, Asia and the Pacific, and Europe. Produced by the International Social Security Association (ISSA) with the support of the ILO.

    Provides links to country profiles, good practices in social security, publications, conference reports and to a wide range of databases. Produced by the International Social Security Association (ISSA) with the support of the ILO.

  17. Key Indicators of the Labour Market (KILM)

    A database covering 20 labour market indicators on topics such as labour force participation, employment, hours of work, unemployment, wages, labour productivity and income distribution.

  18. Labordoc

    Labordoc is the world’s largest web-based collection of knowledge on the world of work. Labordoc provides easy access to thousands of documents, including every ILO publication since 1919 in every ILO language. Produced and maintained by a network of 28 ILO libraries around the world, Labordoc includes literature on the world of work, as well as economic and social development.

    Compiles web sites which contain data from national statistical agencies, the ILO and other sources. Includes links to source web sites and references to print publications available in the ILO Library.

    Resources on local economic development (LED), as well as an up-to-date listing of LED projects and courses.

    Database of the legal status of the ILO in its member States and certain other states.

  22. LEGOSH - Global database on occupational safety and health legislation

    Provides an overview and analysis of the current national occupational safety and health (OSH) regulatory frameworks worldwide and compiles the wealth of legislation related to this topic. LEGOSH is the first global source of authoritative information on national OSH legislation.

  23. NATLEX

    Database of national labour, social security and related human rights legislation maintained by the ILO's International Labour Standards Department.


    An information system which brings together information on International Labour Standards (such as ratification information, reporting requirements, comments of the ILO's supervisory bodies, etc.) as well as national labour and social security laws.

  25. Occupational Safety and Health Thesaurus

    This information system on OSH terminology represents a source of terms used to index content available on various knowledge and information platforms, such as bulletins and databases. It can also supply "meta" tags for indexing webpages. Its system of facet codes has been used to organize OSH libraries.

  26. Quipustat

    Easy-to-use database of labour statistics in Latin America and the Caribbean. Contains 19 indicators and covers 30 countries. In English and Spanish.

  27. Reported incidents of abandonment of seafarers

    A regularly updated list of vessels that have been reported as abandoned in various ports of the world. Produced in conjunction with the IMO with support from the International Ship Suppliers' Association (ISSA).
