UN Human Rights Bodies

The ILO contributes to and collaborates with UN human rights treaty and charter bodies and rapporteurs in a number of ways.

In particular, the ILO has provided inputs to:

The ILO has entered into arrangements with the United Nations and a number of its specialized agencies with regard to their participation in the supervision of Convention No. 169. ILO also receives inputs from those bodies. For example, the Committee of Experts on the Application of Conventions and Recommendations (CEACR), while examining States’ reports, takes into consideration relevant information from the United Nations System including the human rights treaty bodies as well as official information emerging from other relevant UN bodies and mandates, including the Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues and the Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights and fundamental freedoms of indigenous peoples.
