Some of ILO PRO169 main objectives are information-dissemination, sharing of experiences and good practice, mainstreaming of indigenous peoples’ rights into broader development processes as well as training and support to longer-term capacity-building processes. In this way, the ILO aims at providing practical guidance to partners and to ILO staff as well as other stakeholders on how to address the specific needs and rights of indigenous peoples and to support the development and implementation of national laws and policies guided by international and human rights standards. In accordance with this aim, the ILO has a number of diversified resources. These resources include:
- Training Materials on different issues relevant to indigenous peoples, such as Convention No. 169, discrimination, child labour, forced labour,.
- Publications, such as studies and reports
- Guidelines and Manuals on indigenous peoples’ rights and International Labour Standards that are relevant to indigenous peoples
- Documentation of the events ILO has organized, collaborated to or participated in related to indigenous peoples’ rights
- Translations of Convention No.169 into national and indigenous languages
- Project documents
- Useful links from different sources such as ILO websites, Regional and international networks, Multi- and bilateral donor agencies, etc.
