Once a country has ratified an ILO convention it is obliged to report regularly on measures it has taken to implement it.
Based on this reporting, ILO has a regular supervisory system that provides comments and requests to the concerned governments. In addition to the regular procedures for supervising the implementation of ILO Conventions, there are also procedures to deal with more serious situations, and alleged violations of these Conventions Information regarding a country’s ratification of specific conventions and information from the supervisory system is available at ILOLEX.
Within the International Labour Office there are teams that support the task of the ILO bodies examining the application of ratified Conventions through any of the supervisory mechanisms. These teams work with groups of related conventions.
The Equality, Migrant Workers and Indigenous and Tribal Peoples Team works on the supervision of Conventions Nos. 100, 111, 143, 107 and 169.
