- Since its creation, the ILO has developed a very extensive body of texts in the field of international labour law. However, these texts are contained in numerous publications which are not easily accessible. This has constituted a serious barrier to their dissemination to ILO constituents and other interested institutions, for which the provisions adopted by the ILO on a particular subject and their application around the world would otherwise provide valuable guidance.
- ILOLEX is a trilingual database (English/French/Spanish) on international labour standards containing, in total, more than 75,000 full-text documents. It is part of a legal information system administrated by the Labour Law Information Branch (INF LEG) of the ILO’s International Labour Standards Department.
- In addition to its publication on the Internet, ILOLEX is also published twice annually as a CD-ROM. The CD-ROM contains more chapters of information and has more search and display functionality than does the Internet presentation.
