May 2011

  1. Training of facilitators on conducting a gender self-assessment in business support organizations

    18 - 20 May 2011

    A three-day training workshop aimed at facilitators who learn how to assist business support organizations to carry out a self-assessment of their level of gender awareness and gender mainstreaming. The “FAMOS check” aims to promote internal learning in business support organizations, and to identify good practices and gaps regarding gender mainstreaming and provision of services to women micro- and small-scale entrepreneurs.

  2. Stakeholder Workshop on Pro-Poor Tourism Value Chain Development

    16 May 2011

    The objectives of this stakeholder workshop are to raise awareness and to receive inputs from key stakeholder representatives on the project activities.

  3. Training workshops on Labour Market Information and Analysis

    9 - 10 May 2011

    The main objective of this workshop is to contribute to developing the capacity of the selected Employment Service Centres and DoLISA Employment Units to better understand and contribute to labour market information and analysis in Vietnam, and to effectively manage their performance at delivering services and implementing labour market policy and programs.

  1. Workshop on Labour Issues in Bilateral and Regional Foreign Trade Agreements

    The workshop is to discuss substantive labour issues under Foreign Trade Agreements (FTA) Negotiation.

  2. National Tripartite Workshop on the ILO Convention on Promotional framework on Occupational Safety and Health

    28 April - 28 June 2011

    This is the opportunity for discussions among the governmental competent agencies, representative organizations of employers and employees on the feasibility report of the Convention No. 187 in order to strengthen the management, organization and implementation of OSH and to prevent occupational accidents and diseases at workplaces in Viet Nam.

  3. Visioning Event for an ILO Asia Pacific Community of Practice on Industrial Relations (AP-IR Net)

    26 - 28 April 2011

    Launched as part of the Asian Decent Work Decade Knowledge Networks series, the AP-IR Net community of Practice (CoP) sets the stage for ILO constituents, IR professionals, academia and others to interact and to share resources, experiences, expertise and ideas in order to find timely solutions to a range of legal, policy and practical challenges in labour and employment relations.

  4. Safety Fun Run 2011

  1. National Workshop on Successful Strategies for Women’s Entrepreneurship Development

    18 March 2011

    This is an opportunity for project’s partner organizations - Viet Nam Cooperative Alliance (VCA) and Viet Nam Women Union at national and local levels – as well as INGOs, donors and technical agencies to share experiences regarding economic empowerment of women and mainstreaming gender equality concerns in the field of entrepreneurship development.

  2. Workshop on "Safety Culture, Risk Management, Competence and Training"

    The workshop aims at identifying preliminarily capacity and demands to support hazard and risk evaluation at enterprise level to orient activity of evaluating and controlling hazards and risks in future.     Opportunity for All is a comprehensive program of training and in-factory assistance to help enterprises to develop an HIV prevention policy and strategy and a disability management policy and strategy.

  3. ILO/SKILLS-AP/Japan Regional Workshop and Study Programme on “Addressing Skills Mismatch through Public Private Partnerships”

    14 - 18 February 2011

    The workshop aims to assist tripartite delegations from selected countries in the region to discuss and find effective ways to develop partnerships between training institutions and industries in making the skills development system more responsive to labour market needs and to reduce skills mismatch.

    APYouthNet will host a rejuvenation event to take stock of the progress made in the community since its launch two years ago.

  2. Launching ceremony of the Vietnam Employment Trends 2010 report

    24 - 25 January 2011

    The Viet Nam Employment Trends 2010 report analyzes the most updated information available to assess the effects of the financial crisis on jobs and working conditions in Vietnam, and discusses projections of how the labour market situation here might evolve in the years ahead.

  1. National Achievement Workshop on “Improvement of working condition in agriculture with WIND programme”

    7 - 8 December 2010

    The seminar is organized by ILO Country Office for Viet Nam in cooperation with Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs (MOLISA) and the Central Farmer Union (FU). The objectives is 1) to exchange practical experiences for maintaining and developing network of farmer volunteers and 2) to find out suitable solutions to integrate WIND programme into the routine activities of Farmer Union. There are 50 participants including farmer volunteers from target provinces and responsible officials at national and provincial levels.

  2. Training Workshop on Managing and Developing Small Business Association for Entrepreneurs

    1 - 2 December 2010

    The workshop is organized by ILO Country Office for Viet Nam in cooperation with Viet Nam Women Entrepreneur Council/ Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The objectives is 1) to increase knowledge and capacity in managing their Business Associations/ Women Entrepreneur Clubs and 2) to prepare action plans to improve the activities/services of Business Associations/Women Entrepreneur Clubs to benefit their members. Participants will be 30 staffs of Viet Nam Women Entrepreneur Council, Viet Nam Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Viet Nam Cooperative, Women's Union, small business associations and business clubs in Ho CHi Minh City, Binh Duong and Dong Nai province.

  1. National Tripartite Seminar on "Emerging Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Issues in Multinational and Large-scale Enterprises in Viet Nam"

    25 - 26 November 2010

    This seminar is organized by ILO Country Office for Viet Nam in cooperation with Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs (MOLISA) and Viet Nam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI). The purpose is to provide practical measures for dealing with new challenges in the field of OSH by 1) presenting the ILO tools; 2) introducing practical examples from large-scale enterprises in Japan; and 3) learning good OSH achievements in Viet Nam. Participants are representative of government agencies and employers' and employees' organizations.

  2. Technical Workshop "Comments on the draft Decree to guide the implementation of related articles on domestic worker in the Labor Code"

    The seminar is organized by ILO Country Office for Viet Nam in cooperation with Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs (MOLISA). The objectives is 1) to agree on the form, title, structure and content of the 1st draft Decree; and 2) to finalize the cover letter and the draft Decree to be submitted to the Government

  3. Consultation Workshop on Domestic Workers and Policy Implication

    15 November 2010

    The workshop is organized by ILO Country Office for Viet Nam in cooperation with Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs (MOLISA). The objectives are 1) to agree on concept, classification of types of domestic workers in Viet Nam, identify scope and target groups of the new Decree; 2) to clarify characteristics of domestic workers and related issues to regulation under the Labor Code to this target group; and 3) to clarify content of decent work for domestic workers mentioned in the draft Convention attached Recommendations of ILO and clarify policy requirement for domestic workers in Viet Nam.
