Training workshop on administration of social protection programmes

This is an activity under the framework of ILO – Irish Aid Partnership programme: Inclusive Growth, Social Protection and Jobs. The training workshop is to enable participants to develop a thorough understanding of the essential principles that promote and support good administration practices for social protection programmes in Viet Nam.

Every social protection programme is imbued with public interest that demands exemplary governance in its administration. Recognizing this as the most fundamental responsibility of all programme administrators, the ILO in collaboration with UNDP and the Government of Viet Nam, Ministry of Labour Invalids and Social Affairs (MOLISA) develop the training course on Social Protection Administration to provide the participants with professional advice and practical guidance on administration principles that are of particular relevance to social protection programmes. 

The specific objectives are:
  • To develop a good understanding of the main principles, structures and mechanisms that promote and support good administration of Social Protection programmes; 
  • To build capacity of participant in coordination, at policy, management, database and services delivery levels; 
  • To review good practices and mechanisms for targeting of beneficiaries to ensure equitable access, especially for the most vulnerable, to the social protection services; and 
  • Develop the capacities of social protection officials in charge of the design, implementation and governance of Information Technology for social protection system and registration of beneficiaries.
