Rural Youth Employment Forum

The Youth Employment Forum in Bac Kan provides an opportunity for young people to express their aspiration, thoughts and needs related to education and employment in the countryside in Viet Nam and share their views and suggestions with policy makers and other stakeholders.

The ILO is supporting Viet Nam to create more and better jobs for young people in rural areas, by promoting integrated interventions to increase rural employment opportunities, particularly through skills development, entrepreneurship training, improved occupational safety and health, working conditions, social security, gender equity and respect of rights at work.

Objectives
 

The Youth Employment Forum in Bac Kan provides an opportunity to young people to express their aspiration, thoughts and needs related to education and employment in the local provinces of Vietnam and share their views and suggestions with policy makers and other stakeholders.

Expected outcomes 

  • Youth views identified on rural employment challenges and opportunities in the northern province of Bac Kan; 
  • Recommendations for rural youth employment promotion documented and presented at the national level; 
  • Youth employment actions and partnerships strengthened in Viet Nam.
