LAM DONG (ILO News) – Two trainings of trainers on occupational safety and health (OSH) in the coffee supply chain were organized in Da Lat City, Lam Dong Province from 29 November to 10 December 2021.

The events adopted methodologies of the Work Improvement in Neighbourhood Development (WIND) programme based on the ILO’s participatory action-oriented approach.

The WIND programme focuses on simple, low-cost, practical measures and training tools to assist farmers in improving workplace safety and health and productivity and also encourages exchanging practical improvement experiences in both farms and processing facilities.

The activities were part of the ILO’s Vision Zero Fund Project on improving safety and health in cooperation with the public and private sector in the coffee supply chain in Viet Nam.

The 28 participants included lead coffee farmers, cooperative members, and staff from Government agencies and non-government organizations.

It is our goal that participants will form a network of local WIND facilitators to train other community members, provide advice to farmers, monitor and document occupational safety and health improvements."
