   Addressing at the launching ceremony, Mr Gyorgy Sziraczki, ILO Viet Nam Country Director, said "for every State and their people, social protection is not just a question of entitlement and responsibility, but a matter of rights. It is a social contract with people. Countries do not need to wait to become wealthy before they make a commitment to social protection. Rather, they should start improving social protection today, as a means to achieve broad-based, sustainable growth, and greater prosperity and human security.

2. ILO Viet Nam Director's Speech on the World Day Against Child Labour

   11 June 2013

   Addressing at the event, Mr Gyorgy Sziraczki, ILO Viet Nam Country Director, said "This year’s World Day Against Child Labour puts the spotlight on child domestic work. The ILO estimates that globally 15.5 million children are engaged in paid or unpaid domestic work in the home of a third party or employer. The vast majority of them are girls while more than half are found in hazardous child domestic work".

   Addressing at the Conference, Mr Gyorgy Sziraczki, ILO Viet Nam Country Director, said "Building sound industrial relations is ultimately about implementation, enforcement and sustainability, based on joint efforts. As the old Vietnamese saying goes "One tree cannot make a hill; three trees together can make a high mountain". The participation of central and local level tripartite partners -- Government, workers’ and employers’ organizations -- is key to success.

   Addressing the International Day of Persons with Disabilities (3 December), Mr Gyorgy Sziraczki, ILO Viet Nam Country Director, said Viet Nam needs to promote rights and opportunities for people with disabilities to help them get decent jobs suited to their skills, interest and abilities.

2. UN Viet Nam Resident Coordinator's Speech on International Day of Persons with Disabilities

   United Nations Resident Coordinator, Ms. Pratibha Mehta, called on the society to remove stigma and discrimination against people with disabilities at the Celebration Evening and Concert entitled “Creating an inclusive and accessible society for persons with disabilities” in Ha Noi on 3 December.

1. ILO Viet Nam Director: Vietnamese teachers need more supports to make education beneficial to all

   Addressing the celebration of the Vietnamese Teachers' Day, Mr Gyorgy Sziraczki, ILO Viet Nam Country Director highlighted the need for urgent actions to make teaching a decent job that deserves the status it already has in the Vietnamese society. The event entitled 'Role and status of teachers in building an inclusive, creative and sustainable learning society' was coorganised by the ILO, the UNESCO and the Viet Nam Association for Learning Promotion in Ha Noi on 15 November.
